Gain points when you complete environmentally friendly actions, or EnviroActions. Engage in friendly competition, climb leaderboards and compare your environmental score with your friends, all while helping combat climate change through eco-friendly practices. Points get added to your score when an approver reviews and approves the EnviroActions submitted by you.
Requirements:
This version of EnviroScore is intended for students in high schools that have registered with the developer. A teacher or other staff member takes the role of approver. To register your school, fill out a request on the EnviroScore support website at https://forms.gle/UQzufv5HqwLRd8y4A and provide the name of your school and contact information in the request.
This app requires a Game Center account and Game Center has to be enabled on the device.
Begin playing the game by creating your profile as a student or a teacher, filling in your name and specifying your (registered) school name and grade.
For student:
Document the completion of an EnviroAction in the Create Actions tab. Select the appropriate EnviroAction category matching your action, upload photos as evidence of your action, input a count quantifying your action and tap Submit. A Game Center screen will appear, where you will choose the approver from the list of Game Center friends. Tap the Invite Friends button to select your approver and send the EnviroAction for approval. Once the approver reviews your submission and confirms that you actually completed your submitted action(s), points will be credited to your score, and your updated score will be visible on the Action Submission screen. Your ranking will also be showcased on the leaderboard, accessible through the Leaderboard tab.
For teacher (approver):
Students record their completed EnviroActions, and send you this information for verification. After reviewing the details of the submitted EnviroAction(s), including images and other details, tap the Approve button if you are satisfied that the student has completed the submitted action. Alternately, tap Decline to fill in a text reason for declining and send back the submission to the student.
Upon approval, points will be awarded to the student and their score will be updated accordingly. The rankings of students will be displayed on the leaderboard, accessible via the Leaderboard tab.
Additionally, you can add students as Game Center friends through the app from the Invite Students tab. This enables them to easily send EnviroActions to you for review and approval. Alternatively, you can manually add them as friends outside the app interface, which also enables them to send actions to you.
